MHYFC & AMHFC

providing football for our community

An Introduction to the club

Moreton Hall Youth Football Club was formed in 1991 and is based in Bury St Edmunds on the Moreton Hall Estate.

The club has grown to incorporate youth teams from U8 right through to U16, playing in the Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League. This season has also seen the addition of an adult team, playing under the name of Athletic Moreton Hall in the Bury and District Sunday League. This now gives us the opportunity to be able to offer football from U8 to adult.

Objective

The objective of MHYFC is to continue providing the opportunity for the local youth to play competitive football.

Our ambition

Is to:-

  1. expand this opportunity across a range of abilities, from novice to the highest possible standards
  2. extend the club to include girls teams
  3. to vary the experience with interaction locally, nationally and even internationally

This will always be done within a safe environment, with an emphasis on enjoyment and personal development for the youths.

The Area

Moreton Hall is the fastest developing area of Bury St Edmunds. With new homes still being built, the area now contains several thousand families.

Most of this development has been in the past 15 years and includes some infrastructure such as schools, shops, industrial estate and a popular community centre.

The demographic profile is heavily weighted towards young families and so it was no surprise that there was a strong interest in providing a youth football club.

Leagues

We compete in Suffolk FA affiliated leagues. Athletic Moreton Hall play in the Bury & District Sunday League, whilst Moreton Hall Youth play in the Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League.

This league provides competitions for over 50 clubs in the Ipswich and West Suffolk area, from U8 up to U18, plus other cup competitions.

Matches are played most Sundays from September normally finishing before the FA Cup Final in May.

The Club

In total there are currently about 150 boys registered with the club, one of the biggest in Suffolk.

The club is run by a Management Committee, that is split into 2 main bodies:-

1. Core Committee made up as follows:-
