Again the opposition proved too strong for the U9’s today. Achilles passed the ball well and battled for the ball throughout the game. At times Hall strung some fine passes together but often the final touch let them down. Howard and Riches worked very hard with Bugg rallying his defence on many occasions.

Achilles scored a fine goal to secure the win, and Hall had one good effort from Mealey. The boys worked very hard but again were unable to create many chances.

Hall came up against top of the league Tuddenham today, and battled hard throughout the game. Jameson had a great game in the middle working hard whilst Bugg in the Hall goal was again outstanding, making several fantastic saves. Tuddenham passed the ball well, and Hall were always chasing, and unlucky to go a goal down with a deflection off the keepers legs into the net.

The second half saw Hall raise their game with a few close efforts but no goals as a reward. Tuddenham continued to move the ball around the field really well and secured the win with a second goal late half as Hall continued to press for a goal but with no luck.

 Match Report
 

A win for the U9’s today against local team Bury Town. The game remained close in the opening minutes with both sides pressing for the opening goal. Hall scored a great opening goal, the ball fed from the keeper with passes across the field to the feet of Mealey who fired past the Bury Town keeper from close range. The second goal was a penalty by Riches after a Bury Town defender handled in the box.

Hall continued to pass and play well in the second half with some good defending from Riches and Howard, with Radford, Beecroft and McCourt working well in the middle of the park. Hall’s third goal came from a long Bugg kick which was headed in by Mealey. Bury Town pulled one back late in the game with a close range shot, but Hall finished with a deserved win. Great team effort from all of the squad.

Hall were unable to get a result today against a very strong St Johns side. The first half was a more even affair, with both keepers in action with some fine saves. Hall passed the ball well at times but just lacked the final touch.

After the break, St Johns continued to pass extremely well from their midfield which resulted in their 2 goals, fine passing efforts. Excellent keeping from Bugg and defending from Howard and Riches kept the score line down, as did an excellent goal line clearance from Radford. Tired legs late on did not produce any goals for Hall but a good effort for their first game.
